Called “an emerging force of nature” by The Hollywood Reporter, her full length feature musical “Leave it on the Floor” has been accepted to many film festivals around the world including the Los Angeles Film Festival, Framline (SF), Newfest (NY), Outfest, Toronto International Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival and the London Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Voted of One of the Hot 25 for 2011 by Frontiers LA Magazine (Los Angeles, CA), she recently accepted a position as contributor to the radio show “IMRU” on KPFK (Los Angeles, CA) premiering Spring 2012. She currently writes for print/web publications such as Odyssey Magazine (Los Angeles, CA), LA Slush (Los Angeles, CA), The Catalyst (Los Angeles, CA) and of course her own blog Miss Barbie-Q’s Hotplate.

She has appeared in videos such as Lady Gaga's “Telephone”, Jonny McGovern’s “Dickmitized” and Busdriver’s ‘Kiss Me Back to Life”. Her television work has appeared on TVLand, VH1, Logo and ION.

She recently has expanded her theatre training into the world of performance art with a 2011 tour in Kristina Wong’s four-person ensemble “Cat Lady” (Redcat, Los Angeles, CA; Diverseworks, Houston, TX; ODC Theatre, San Francisco, CA; National Performance Network Conference, Tampa, FL), “Scenes Unseen: Man School for Cat Ladies” (National Queer Arts Festival, San Francisco, CA; Eastside Cultural Center, Oakland, CA) and Smutopia (Highways Performance Art Space, Santa Monica, CA). Miss Barbie-Q has also developed her skills as a public speaker by relaying her experiences at the Queer Cultures Night at UCLA (2011) and her upcoming speaking engagement at the Queer People of Color Conference at Cal State Northridge in March 2012. She has participated in art installations such as EatLACMA (Los Angeles County Museum; Los Angeles, CA - 2010). Her theatre work includes: “Barefoot in the Park”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” & “Godspell” (ARISE Academy of the Arts, Pomona, CA), “Steel Dragnolias” (Stagestheatre, Fullerton, CA)  and “My One & Only” (San Gabriel CLO, San Gabriel, CA).

Miss Barbie-Q Has performed at venues all over Los Angeles (Hamburger Mary’s West Hollywood,/Long Beach, Rage, LA Pride), Orange County (Ozz Supper Club, Lion’s Den, Ripples), San Francisco (The Bar on Castro, Castro Theatre), San Diego (Numbers, Flames), Toronto (Goodhandys), Colorado Springs (Zodiacs) and also has a partnership as club promoter we well as hosting & performing at her monthly club called Shhh.... at Akbar (Silverlake, CA).

Miss Barbie-Q has been featured in OutSmart Magazine (Houston, TX), Drag Queen of the Week in the SoCal Drag Scene (Los Angeles, CA) and Guiseppa Magazine (Denver, CO). As a participant of EatLACMA, the project with photographer Austin Young, she was invited to take part in a book about that project coming out in Fall 2012. She is also will be featured in the coffee table book “dr.a.g” by Christopher Logan (Amazon.com).

Through her numerous charity performances in 2009-2011, she has helped raise over $60,000 working with the likes of APLA, Lambda Legal Defense, Angels of Change, Arapahoe House, The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Gender Justice LA, Equality Network, GLAAD, AIDS Lifecycle LA and Equality California and Arapahoe House.
