From all around LA, I have come across clubs, restaurants, underground parties, fashion shows and even more events that I think we all should go to. It's time to get out of the bubble baby! People ask me all the time where to go and what to do in LA. They even ask for my personal advice as an artist as well. I will post things as I come across them and hopefully keep your spirits up as well.

BARBIE-Q'S HOTPLATE FOR JULY 29th to AUG 12th
“You are a star!” “You are a superstar!” My film LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR is getting great press and people are taking note. They (don’t you love the “they” factor?) keep telling me everywhere I go. I don’t feel any different and what’s worse, if I let all that go to my head, then I will be in real trouble. Don’t get it twisted; I am ecstatic that the film is getting all this attention. We worked hard on it and it is lovely to see the fruits of our labor (isn’t that what all artists want?) I guess the main thing is keeping my head and wits about me.
When I came back into the scene and I was scared no one would give me the time of day. I soooo don’t look like the regular girls out there (you know us voluptuous girls have to represent!) So I plugged merrily along, doing gigs around town, doing projects where they felt organic and now it seems I actually can have a career. If I want it. I have been giving advice for a while and it seems that I need to come clean and put myself out there with my feelings so that it doesn’t seem like I and just wagging my finger at everyone tell them what they should do.
Some people say I am not aggressive enough in getting what want (career, boyfriend, losing weight, etc.) but I have seen people go sharking into the waters of their desires and either get burned out, jaded or realize that this is not what they wanted in the first place. I have to admit, I am loving the path my career is gong (see I said career!), loving that people are “surprised” that I have a smidge of talent. HA!
To that I say thank you and sit back baby, because I got more for you. This time I am not gonna give you any advice, just to think about your OWN career goals my loves, think about where you are in your OWN life, appreciate where you are in your life, and know that people will pay attention soon. If they are not already and you just haven’t noticed.
Nuff said.
